"De Locatie" was a care farm in Vlijmen (near 's Hertogenbosch) in the Netherlands. Here, young people with mental or social disabilities could develop their skills and confidence under the caring guidance of a dedicated volunteer team. Unfortunately, the farm closed several years ago due to lack of financial support.
I had the privilege of spending several weekends there capturing photographs. My series show:
- The farm environment and the work done there
- The interactions between staff and the young clients
- Portraits of clients, staff members and the farm animals within community
These images document a special place where personal growth and human connection flourished, preserving the memory of what "De Locatie" meant to everyone involved.
