South Africa

In 2026, we finally visited South Africa, a trip that was long overdue and exceeded every expectation. Our journey began in Cape Town and the nearby wine region of Stellenbosch, before heading north to the Kruger area, where we based ourselves in Hoedspruit and the Manyeleti Game Reserve.

This first visit only scratched the surface of what South Africa offers, yet the country left a lasting impression. From Cape Town's dramatic landscapes and Stellenbosch's vineyard-covered hills to Manyeleti's unfenced wilderness bordering Kruger National Park, South Africa delivered an extraordinary range of experiences. The people's warmth, the exceptional cuisine, world-class wines, and, above all, remarkable wildlife encounters made this trip unforgettable.

One visit was certainly not enough—we'll be returning to explore more of this endlessly fascinating country.

On this page, you'll find links to photo essays documenting our South African journey, from Cape Town's urban energy to the untamed bushveld of Manyeleti.
